Mabtas 500mg Injection (Rituximab)

Mabtas 500mg injection contains rituximab, an anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody used to treat various conditions in adults. It is prescribed alone or in combination with other medications for:

• Non-Hodgkin™s Lymphoma (NHL) “ A cancer affecting B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
• Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) “ A common cancer that affects B-cells in the blood.
• Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) “ An autoimmune disease that attacks joint cells, treated in combination with methotrexate.
• Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis & Microscopic Polyangiitis “ Inflammatory conditions affecting blood vessels, lungs, and kidneys, in adults and children aged 2 years and older.
• Pemphigus Vulgaris “ A severe autoimmune condition causing painful blisters on the skin and mucous membranes (mouth, throat, nose, and genitals).

Important Precautions

Do not take Mabtas 500mg injection if you:

• Are allergic to rituximab or any of its ingredients.
• Have a weakened immune system or a severe active infection.
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding (use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 months after the last dose).

Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have:

• Heart disease, heart failure, or breathing problems.
• A history of hepatitis B, as this medicine may reactivate the infection.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Blood infections and low red blood cell count.
• Dizziness, facial or body swelling.
• Skin reactions (itching, rashes).
• Diarrhea, increased sweating.
• Fluctuations in blood pressure (high or low).

Infusion Reactions

Mabtas may cause severe infusion reactions during or within 24 hours of administration. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience:

• High blood pressure, chest pain, or headache.
• Breathing difficulties, vomiting, or throat swelling.
